CHRIS CAFFERY To Enter Studio In May
January 30, 2008SAVATAGE/TRANS-SIBERIAN ORCHESTRA guitarist Chris Caffery has issued the following update:
"Been getting a lot of questions about what I will be doing this year. Right now I am writing for my next CD. This is pretty much it for the next couple of months. Not a bad thing considering I spent the majority of last year on the road! I have a few guest solos to record for some people; I will let you know who after the stuff is all finished.
"I will be getting into the studio at some point to do my guitar work on the mysterious and highly anticipated TRANS-SIBERIAN ORCHESTRA 'Nightcastle' CD. I have also written a song for the CD with Paul [O'Neill, TRANS-SIBERIAN ORCHESTRA mastermind].
"I am heading to Texas with Eric Adams from MANOWAR in February to do some hunting and fishing with our friend Chester Moore. Chester and Eric released a hunting DVD last year. I am not sure if we will be filming, I do know I am looking forward to it. Many different locations and well known hunting/outdoors guides as well.
"I do have one live show booked right now in the ummer (July 18th in Endicott, New York as part of the TMT Festival). I plan on starting to record real tracks for my CD in May. I hope to have the whole thing finished by the beginning of July. Still don't have a title, so the working title stands at 'My Next Solo CD'. Or... 'MNSCD' for short. With any luck the CD will be released in October, just in time for the next TSO run. Worst-case scenario, I will have it ready to go and it will be out as soon as 2009 kicks in. I just want to make the best CD possible."
Chris Caffery's latest solo album, "Pins and Needles", was released in Europe in March 2007 via Metal Heaven Records. The CD arrived in North America on June 5 via Locomotive.
The follow-up to 2004's "Faces" and 2005's collection of bonus tracks and new compositions, "W.A.R.P.E.D.", "Pins and Needles" was originally scheduled to be released through Greece's Black Lotus Records, but after the company closed its doors in 2006, Caffery was forced to seek a new label home.
According to a press release, "Pins and Needles" features a "more powerful, aggressive, experimental and focused attack that is sure to catch the ears of any metal fan." The album was produced by Caffery together with Nik Chinboukas at Nik's Hot Tracks Studio, Spin Studios and Happy Beaver Studios, Astoria, NY.
Lacey Conner, villainess co-star of VH1's hit TV show "Rock of Love" featuring POISON's Bret Michaels, conducted an interview with Chris Caffery at the Dean Guitars booth at this year's winter NAMM (National Association of Music Merchants) show, which was held January 17-20 at the Anaheim Convention Center in Anaheim, California.
